The effects of international banking M&As

This article studies bank Merger & Acquisition (M&A) activities in the recent 10 years, and analyzes the relationship between M&A and scale economy, scope economy and X-efficiency: The general conclusion from the study is: While appropriate scale economy exists in banks, a wave of pursuit of efficiency and improvement of bank will occur arising from the changes of environment and bank management capability leading the constant expansion of scale economy.
