摘要
Due to technological advances in terms of product manufacturing that are sustained by the rapid and continuous expansion of the internet, customized products tend to replace more and more the mass produced products. Generating a huge amount of unique data during design phase, to assure the quality of projects and to reduce design time of customized products, powerful product data management systems need to be used. Because the design validation of customized products needs to be done as much as possible in the virtual environment an increase in functionality of product data management systems becomes a necessity. The purpose of this paper is to present possible future functions of product data management solutions that will extend these systems scope in the case of customized products.
