A neoteric approach to bibliographic instruction: "If you can't treat me right, you can't teach me right"

An increased commitment to building an ethically and culturally diverse community at Bowling Green State University involves creating a many-layered support network. The bibliographic instruction program contributes to overall university efforts to increase retention of students of color. This paper shares one librarian's insights into his role in the success of minority students.
