摘要
Pancreatic beta-cell function and mass play a crucial role in the progression of type 2 diabetes. Abnormal intra-uterine environment programs the alterations of adult beta-cell mass and secretory function. Glucocorticoid hormones are potent inhibitors of both beta-cell function and development.
