摘要
In this paper, we have designed and simulated Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC) to integrate with the steam power plant unit of Ashuganj power station to reduce the consumption of natural gas and to increase the efficiency of the plant. Here, natural gas is extracted in the pre-reformer and hydrogen found from the reformer is used as the fuel of SOFC. Primarily, SOFC generates dc electricity and provides exhaust gas, which is used to generate steam from water. Then, flue gases from the gas turbine and the exhaust flue gas from SOFC enter into heat recovery steam generator (HRSG) to produce steam from water. After that, the steam is expanded on the turbine to produce mechanical energy and then electricity. Though the capital cost of the system is high, the fuel consumption is very less compared to the base steam turbine plant.
