摘要
The shift-share analysis has been confirmed a useful approach to analyze economic performance of local government. This study aims at probing into the spatial competitiveness of economic sectors in Banyuwangi by applying a shift-share model. The results indicate that agriculture, mining and manufacturing sectors are no longer the backbone of the economy of Banyuwangi. Trade, hotel and restaurant, construction, service and financial sectors are the most robust sectors contributing on net shift with the total more than 25 percents. Identification of investment priorities within these potential sectors and implementation of a comprehensive regional development policy plan would definitely accelerate the economic growth of Banyuwangi.
