摘要
In plasma arc cutting, suppression of dross adhesion during arc cutting is one of the issues. We have developed an observation system of the molten metal flowing down along the arc plasma jet near the arc cutting surface. This system consists of a YAG laser with high repetition rate and a high-speed video camera. By using YAG laser strobe photography and high-speed visible camera synchronously we have succeeded to observe the molten steel behavior in the arc cutting surface from the initial heated phase to melted and dynamically flowing out phase up to the frame rate of 4000 fps.
