摘要：

The ESC Congress 2018, in Munich, Germany, once again formed the 'world's largest and most influential scientific congress for cardiovascular professionals' from worldwide locations. Over 5 days of science and education, approximately 4,500 abstracts were presented, 500 expert sessions given and > 200 exhibiting companies attended, delivering 'cutting-edge programs essential for continuing medical education' for the 'biggest killer in Europe'. The ESC Congress Spotlight for 2018 was valvular heart disease, a disease that is characterized by damage to or a defect in one of the four heart valves.
