摘要
This paper presents how Artificial Intelligence technique of simulated annealing can be used to find the optimum parameters for Received Signal Strength (RSS) distance estimation from VLC LEDs. Since it was not known what was the actual semi-angle at half power of the LED and which is the best OFDM subcarrier to use to measure RSS, simulated annealing algorithm was used to provide a solution to the optimal selection of these parameters. The function optimization and algorithm implementation was all performed in MATLAB. Results show that the method is able to find global optimal solution, whilst successfully overcoming the localised optimal solutions for distance estimation.
