High precision measurement and error analysis on the moment of inertia for projectile

摘要
The method of twist-swing is usually adopted to test the moment of. inertia for projectile. The test can be completed by measuring the period of a twist-swing system. In this paper, a swing-inertia-moment testing system is introduced, with simple structure and convenient installation and maintenance. The two-order liner vibration model is used in this measuring system to study the influence of the different loaded mass on the damping ratio. The possible maximum error and method to calculate the measuring range of the system can be confirmed on condition that the error requirement is defined. The method for selecting standard sample, which is used to calibrate the measurement system, is also given in this paper.
