Tin as reducing agent in Eu2+ doped alkali-earth fluorophosphates

摘要
The blue europium band in alkali-earth fluorophosphates, determining the 4f(6)5d --> sS(7/2) allowed electric-dipole transitions in the Eu2+ ion, is studied. The simultaneous doping with Sn2+ provides a possibility of the realization of Sn --> Eu transitions and of formation of Eu2+ ions as blue emission centres of high intensity. The M-I position is assumed for the Eu2+ ions in the apatite structure of the matrix.
