Design parameter selection of a hydraulic servo valve using the genetic algorithm

摘要
This paper presents the optimization technique using the genetic algorithm to optimize the design parameters of a hydraulic servo valve. The dynamic characteristics of the servo valve is governed by the design parameters such as the drain orifice diameter and the feedback spring stiffness as well as the other parameters. These parameters may be selected by repeated number of simulations to obtain a desired dynamic characteristics. The genetic algorithm, however, can be applied to optimize the design parameters in more effective manner. This paper has used the genetic algorithm to select the design parameters such that the predefined dynamic performance can be closely obtained. The results show that the parameters can be optimized with the reduced calculation time and less local optimum trouble.
