摘要
In a restructured environment the issue of congestion became more complicated due to the presence of open access facility for market players which create problem for system operators. To control this issue various techniques are developed in which generator rescheduling is one of the methods. The rescheduling of generator is done based on the generator sensitivity factor to congested line. Here a newly developed meta-heuristic algorithm WOT is used for reducing the congestion with minimum rescheduling cost. The WOT is inspired from the special hunting mechanism of the humpback whales. The proposed technique is tested on IEEE 30 bus system effectively. The results are compared with PSO and found that WOT gives better result than PSO technique.
