摘要
In India, the depths of the Mohorovicic discontinuity at several locations along a few deep seismic sounding (DSS) profiles are available. A plot of these depths against the Bouguer gravity anomaly at respective locations has been fitted to a straight line whose slope provided a value of 440 kg/m(3) for the density contrast between the crust and the uppermost mantle. For a standard subcrustal density of 3300 kg/m(3), the average density of the crust turns out to be 2860 kg/m(3). Copyright (C) 1996 Elsevier Science Ltd
