摘要
Images pertaining to any application area can embrace all the information that is visualized by Human Visual System (HVS). In order to perceive this complete information and to extract better features from the image, various image enhancement techniques have been developed. In multi-spectral satellite imagery, the images captured by the payload comprise of wide range of wavelengths, known as bands. This paper proposes a unique 'Adaptive Band Specific Image Enhancement Scheme based on Segmented Satellite Images' which operates on all the bands that are defined for satellite imagery. They cover a wide range of applications ranging from search & rescue images, environmental & landscape studying to hyper-spectral cosmic imagery etc. The proposed image enhancement technique facilitates better observation of satellite images by selecting and enhancing the particular region of image. It also provides the flexibility to operate the algorithm on particular bands in order to obtain maximum information from them.
