摘要：
The morbidity of brain metastases is increasing mainly due to the overall progress in cancer therapy in which the prolongation of crude survival is surpassing the cure rate. The natural history of untreated brain metastases shows a median survival of 3-4 months. Antiedema therapy is a routine requirement. Although the treatment of brain metastases remains palliative, each patient is a challenge for using a multidisciplinary approach. This article reviews new trends and concepts in the field of specifically tumoricidal techniques.
