摘要
About 700 million tons of steel is produced each year. 60 % of this production is obtained from blast furnaces and steel shops, remaining 40 % is obtained by using scrap in mini mills. So blast furnace is the only source for steel production. In blast furnaces coke and auxiliary fuels (tar, fuel oil, coal) are used to obtain heat. By using auxiliary fuel, consumption of coke decreases while a smooth furnace operation is obtained.
