摘要
This research paper contains different compact circular patch antennas. Slots of different structure and Defected Ground Structure (DGS) have been introduced on a normal circular patch to achieve compactness. Six compact antennas i.e. Antenna-AA, Antenna-BB, Antenna-CC and Antenna-DD, Antenna-EE and Antenna-FF have been designed with different level of compactness. A normal circular patch has been designed initially. It resonates 5.2 GHz resonate frequency. Slots and DGS are introduced on the circular patch, the resonating frequency has been moved to the lower frequency and hence compactness is achieved. Antenna-AA is found to resonate at 4.3 GHz and 42.44 % compactness was observed. The compactness for Antenna-BB, Antenna-CC and Antenna-DD are achieved 9.7 %, 15.27 % and 53.67 % respectively. Antenna DD provides the best compactness compared to these antennas. Annular ring type DGS has been introduced to Antenna-DD to enhance the compactness further. This antenna is termed as Antenna-EE and compactness of 73.17 % is achieved. This is also a dual band antenna. After insertion of six small arms to the annular ring (DGS) the compactness has increased to 90.34 % and the antenna is termed as Antenna-FF. All antennas have been designed and simulated by Ansoft Designer Software. Simulated results are presented here.
