Private equity firm targets specialty deals

Private equity firm Huron capital Partners, Detroit, has teamed up with two investors formerly associated with Sovereign Specialty Chemicals, Chicago, to create Quest Chemical Holding. The quest has been created to acquire small- to mid-size companies in the adhesives, coatings, and thermoplastic films markets. Quest will build a specialty chemicals platform by acquiring business with revenues of $20 million-$50 million in the market. It plans to retain the management, employees, and plants of the companies it acquires. Latest product development and acquisitions are expected to help drive Quest's revenue to $200 million.
