摘要
The Rigid Ion Model (RIM) has been formulated by incorporating the effects of the long-range Coulomb attraction, the short-range Hafemeister-Flygare (HF) type overlap repulsion and van der Waals (vdW) interactions to investigate the temperature dependence of the specific heat of hexagonal manganites RMnO3 (R=Y, Sc, Lu) in the temperature range I OK! T <= 100K. The comparison between our calculated and available experimental results on the specific heat (C-v) has shown an excellent agreement.
