Recent advances in floating production systems and their seabed connections

This paper presents a summary of the recent advances in Floating Production Systems and associated seabed connections (moorings, risers, umbilicals, tethers etc) as discussed by the Specialist Technical Committee V.2 Floating Production Systems for the International Ship and Offshore Structures Congress (ISSC), 2006. The Technical Committee's mandate was 'concern for the design of floating production systems. Specific emphasis shall be given to FPSO hulls and the recent industry experience that influences the design methodology. Consideration shall be given to identification and quantification of uncertainties for use in reliability methods'.
