Breast cancer. A 5 year experience

The present paper studies the 5 year experience of our hospital's Breast Cancer Department from January 1991 to December 1995. During this period we treated surgically 141 patients in the stages 0 to IIIB The largest age group was the seventh decade and the most frequent histologic type was the invasive ductal carcinoma. The treatment approach was surgery followed by chemotherapy/hormonal therapy with or without radiotherapy as adjuvant therapy. Neoadjuvant therapy was used mainly in locally advanced tumours. We also present some remarks about follow-up and our survival rate by stage.
