摘要
Low cycle fatigue and fatigue crack growth properties were examined for three Al-Si-Mg based cast alloys. These were fabricated by the low pressure casting and subsequent hot isostatic pressing or the semi-liquid die casting to eliminate casting defects. Refinement of eutectic Si particles by Sr addition extended low cycle fatigue life and reduced fatigue crack growth rates in the high DeltaK region. The semi-liquid die casting processed alloy with much finer and globular eutectic Si particles and spheroidized primary dendrite structure exhibited improved fatigue crack growth resistance.
