摘要
The hybrid excitation machines expand the variable-speed range in many applications, such as electric vehicle drives and aircraft power supply. This paper proposes a novel split hybrid excitation machine (SHEM) which owns the advantages of hybrid machine with parallel magnetic path, however additional airgap is avoided. The machine topology and flux regulation principle are discussed firstly. Then the modeling with finite element analysis (FEA) tool is carried out. Based on the FEA results, the characteristics of the proposed SHEM are analyzed and discussed. It shows that the SHEM has good flux regulation performance and quite compact structure. This hybrid excitation machine may be a motor or generator and is especially suitable in the applications of movable wide-range variable speed operation.
