CALCULATING TRANSVERSE MODE PROFILES OF TCSAW PISTON MODE RESONATORS

摘要
Paraxial coupled mode equations (paraxial COM equations or 2D COM equations) are able to characterize the transverse mode profiles in SAW grating waveguides [1], [2], [3]. The paraxial COM equations are applied to the characterization of the orthogonal transverse modes propagating in a synchronous temperature compensated SAW (TCSAW) piston mode waveguide. The solutions indicate that the number of modes bound by the waveguide changes rapidly within the grating stop band. It is also found that the transverse dependence of the modes is strongly influenced by the grating stop band.
