摘要
In this novel wetting technique, a metal oxide particulate layer provides the oxygen required to alloy the liquid metal and promote spreading on an oxide ceramic substrate. The solution of liquid metal with relatively high oxygen content aggressively wets the oxide ceramic substrate, reaching a maximum spreading at 1130 degrees C. The wettability of the ceramic substrate is significantly improved by this technique, which is based upon providing an oxygen source at well distributed and specific areas, This improved wetting technique may be exploited in singular designs which require metal-ceramic joining or in pressureless infiltration of porous ceramics by liquid metals.
