摘要：
Regimes of two-layer exchange flow are studied theoretically and experimentally. Internal hydraulic theory is extended to include the effects of friction and non-hydrostatic forces, and regimes of exchange flow are classified. Laboratory experiments were conducted to study the evolution of the flow through different regimes. Measurements of the flow rate and interface positions during the maximal and submaximal exchange flows compared well with the theory.
