摘要
Based on visible light communication (VLC), a robust method is proposed for an indoor localization system (ILS), which is called VLC-Bounding box. The new method can achieve position calculation by using received signal strength (RSS) technique to reduce the localization error and maintain relatively stability in this scenario. We carry out dozens of the Monte Carlo simulations for different methods with a harsh operating configuration to evaluate the distribution of mean localization error within every possible position. By randomly placing node on the receiver plane and repeating the localization process for the enough times, a comparison work was performed to obtain the mean error for different methods while the ambient noise ranges from zero to the higher power level. Our results show that VLC-Bounding box achieves a good performance than other methods in the VLC-ILS when the noise power rises up to 0.03mW.
