摘要
The potential risk factors for thyroid carcinoma development include genetic predisposition, exposure to therapeutic or environmental ionizing radiation, residence in ares of iodine deficiency or excess, history or preexisting benign thyroid disease, as well as hormonal and reproductive factors. In this review, we analyze some of the epidemiological data, as well as the possible molecular mechansims by which certain environmental and genetic factors might predispose to thyroid tumorigenisis.
