摘要
The synthesis and characterisation of copper(II) complexes of Schiff base ligands derived from 2-(2-pyridylmethyl)-1,3-propanediamine and substituted salicylaldehydes are reported together with the crystal structure of CuL2. MeOH in which the ligand L-2 is derived from 5-bromosalicylaldehyde is also reported. The pendant arm does not engage in inter- or intramolecular binding and inspection of the packing diagram shows that the molecules coexist as discrete van der Waals dimers.
