This paper presents a two-state switched-medium filter in order to remove salt & paper noise from images. The scheme presented chooses not only the proper filter according to the rate of noise, but also establishes the best parameters for this filter. So, we can obtain a filter for impulsive noise reduction working well both for low and high rates of noise.
