Monte Carlo PDF modeling of a bluff-body-stabilized methane diffusion flame

A bluff-body stabilized methane diffusion flame is modeled with a hybrid Monte Carlo PDF method using second-moment closure and Generalized Langevin models, conserved-scalar chemistry and a three-scalar reduced chemical kinetics schemes, and different models for micro-mixing. The three-scalar chemistry scheme is needed to describe effects of partial premixing and finite rate kinetics. For this Bow, modeling of (unstationary) turbulent transport is found to be important.
