A nonlinear model of sea surface waves

摘要
An analytical model that describes the profile of a nonlinear wave on the sea surface was built. The model parameters were calculated on the basis of the statistical characteristics of the wave field that were obtained from in situ experiments. The model takes the group structure of surface waves and the skewness of the distribution of wave-induced elevations of the surface into account. A Jacobi elliptic function of the second kind was used for describing the envelope of a group of waves and the carrier wave.
