Synthesis and spectroscopic studies of tin(IV) complexes of biologically active Schiff bases of sulpha drugs and heterocyclic aldehydes/ketones

摘要
Reactions of tin(IV) chloride with Shiff bases of sulpha drugs have been investigated and on the basis of elemental analyses, IR, UV, H-1 NMR, Sn-119 NMR and Mossbauer spectral studies, possible structures have been indicated for the resulting new compounds. The Schiff base used in these studies are the condensation products of indole-3-carboxyaldehyde, thiophene-2-aldehyde, 2-acetylfuran and 2-acetylthiophene with sulphaguanidine and sulphisoxazole.
