摘要：
This paper describes the soil improvements carried out in conjunction wish the construction of the connection between Lines 8 and 10 of the Madrid Underground system. Specifically, this work was related to an new underground tunnel which passes two metres below an older, two-track, mainline railway tunnel. Work included impregnation grouting under the floor of the old tunnel (:which remained in operation) in order to use compensation grouting techniques during the excavation of the new tunnel.
