摘要
In current study, we calculate optical properties of Co doped CdS system for pure CdS and for 2 x 2 x 2 supercell configuration with two types of substitutions; Cd substitution and interstitial substitution accompanied by creating sulfur vacancy. Graphical trends for optical properties are almost similar except in case of interstitial substitution where quantum mechanical effects are particularly observed and curve shows slight different behavior. Study reveals that optical properties are enhanced and absorption increases in visible region. Effect of Co doping within CdS host lattice demonstrates that electro-optical properties are enhanced.
