摘要：
Tabu search is used to solve a MINLP formulation of a heat exchanger synthesis problem and a molecular design problem. The results are compared with those obtained by more traditional optimization algorithms. A particularly interesting feature of TS is that various sub-optimal solutions can be easily located and recorded.
