摘要
Cable responses to asymmetric loading by large displacements. The nature of significant cable shape changes mainly is preconditioned by cable peculiarity to adapt the loading by tension. These primary cable shape changes for EA -> infinity are denoted as kinematic ones. They have an essential influence to subsequent stress and strain distribution field as they are preconditioned by actual shape of structure. An important stage in cable analysis is an identifying the maximal values of kinematic displacements, their positions. Hence, one must determine the governing factors influencing maximal values and positions of displacements. This contributes an introducing certain engineering means for stabilizing primary cable shape. The most rational way to design cable is to employ the efficient stabilization means first, then to choose the axial stiffness parameters to satisfy the codified stiffness and strength conditions.
