摘要
This paper introduces three types of wideband and low-profile end-fire antennas, which include an H-plane ridged substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) horn antenna, a surface wave antenna, and a log-periodic top-hat monopole antenna. They can achieve the bandwidths of 93%, 100%, and 125% while retaining the antenna thicknesses of 0.13 lambda(0), 0.12 lambda(0), and 0.127 lambda(0) at the center frequency, respectively. These wideband and low-profile antennas are conductor-backed, and can obtain nearly end-fire radiation beams over the entire bandwidths, which are potentially useful to be surface-mounted in airborne communication systems.
