Peculiarities of inhibiting the autooxidation of solid state polypropylene with 4,4'-bis(2,6-di-tert-butylphenol)

摘要
The kinetics of 4,4'-bis (2,6-di-tert-butylphenol) consumption in the course of oxidation of polypropylene (at 130 degrees C, in air) has been studied. It is shown that 3,3', 5,5'-tetra-tert-butyl-4,4'-diphenoquinone (DPQ) is the main product of conversion of the starting BP. An effect of synergism has been revealed on studying stabilization of PP with the BP - DPQ mixtures. The antioxidative activity of BP was compared with that of some other stabilizers.
