摘要
The present paper deals with the influence of chemical reaction and velocity slip over a porous vertical plate in the presence of variable wall concentration. A constant magnetic field of strength B-0 is applied normal to the fluid flow direction and the fluid is assumed to be water based alumina-nanofluid. Using similarity transformations the governing flow equations are reduced into coupled nonlinear ordinary equations and are then solved numerically by most powerful shooting technique. Numerical results for numerous values of flow parameters on the velocity and concentration distributions as well as skin friction coefficient and rate of mass transfer are discussed graphically. The present work has been validated by comparing the values of f ''(0) and chi'(0) with the results of Padma Singh and Manoj Kumar (Padma Singh and Manoj Kumar, Mass transfer in MHD flow of alumina water nanofluid over a flat plate under slip conditions. Alexandria Engineering Journal 54, 383 (2015)). It is observed that the skin friction coefficient and rate of mass transfer decrease with growing values of Kr and Sc. This model of the problem has numerous applications in engineering and industries such as microelectronics, power engines, biomedicine, drugs, cooling toweres, glass blowing, copper wires, etc.
