摘要
Purpose: This study was carried out in order to adapt the "Physicians' Reactions to Uncertainty Scale (PRUS)" into Turkish. Materials and Methods: A total of 257 physicians participated in the study in Cukurova University Hospital. Validity and reliability analyzes of the scale were performed after language validity studies. Exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis were used for construct validity and Cronbach alpha internal consistency coefficients were used for reliability. Results: The correlations between the scale's original and Turkish translated forms for language validity were 0.805 for Anxiety Due to Uncertainty (ADU), 0.812 for Concern About Bad Outcomes (CABO), 0.854 for Reluctance to Disclose Uncertainty to Patients (RDUP), 0.890 for Reluctance to Disclose Mistakes to Physicians (RDMP), and 0.874 for PRUS. Values for Goodness of Fit Tests were 0.96 for Comparative Fit Index (CFI), 0.93 for Normed Fit Index (NFI), 0.88 for Adjusted Goodness of Fit Index (AGFI), 0.96 for Incremental Fit Index (IFI) and 0.065 for The Root Mean Square Error of Approximation (RMSEA). The cronbach alpha reliability coefficient for the scale and sub-dimensions was 0.855 for ADU, 0.910 for CABO, 0.854 for RDUP, 0.948 for RDMP and 0.790 for the whole scale. Conclusion: The results show that the Turkish adaptation of PRUS can be used as a valid and reliable tool in measuring the responses of physicians to uncertainty.
