摘要
A method for synthesizing Sm-and Eu-doped calcium hexaboride powder in a chloride-oxide melt via electro-chemical deposition of its components on an inert cathode is presented. This method not only allows experiments to be carried out in atmospheric air, but the absence of fluoride environments reduces material requirements for electrochemical cells. The synthesis temperature, electrolyte composition, and current density is optimized. A mechanism for the formation of a deposit on an inert cathode is proposed. The deposit was characterized using X-ray phase analysis, Raman scattering, particle size analysis, ICP-MS, SEM and energy-dispersive analysis.
