Delineation of borehole protection zones in fractured rock aquifers

摘要：
A new approach to delineate protection zones around boreholes in fractured rock aquifers is suggested because of some shortcomings in previous approaches and standards. Based on the German approach by suggesting three protection zones, a simple program, BPZONE, was developed by making use of a spreadsheet. Criteria used in the decision making process is population, fracture extent, travel limes and hazardous substances.
