In this paper experimental results concerning the dependence of longitudinal sound velocity on tensile stress and bias magnetic field in Fe77.5Si7.5B15 amorphous wires used as magnetostrictive delay line are presented. Using magnetostrictive delay line technique, tensile stress applied along the length of the amorphous wire can be detected.
