摘要
Thewaste biomass from the vinification process is characterised by an unsurpassed load and versatility of polyphenols, many of which were demonstrated to exhibit a broad spectrum of beneficial bioactivities. There have been numerous methodologies developed for the effective recovery of polyphenols from wine industry solid wastes (WISW), yet very few of these go beyond laboratory scale, because the use of volatile and expensive solvents, which are unsuitable in terms of safety and environmental aggravation. The use of eco-compatible techniques blended with reusable and non-toxic solvents is gaining a wide acceptance, with respect to minimizing process cost, heath-related risks and possible environmental impact. This review summarizes the latest developments on the high-perspective solid-liquid extraction processes for polyphenol recovery from WISW based on green solvents and technologies.
