摘要
A large-scale research into beam-to-column connections with conventional and improved details is first summarized. An evaluation of factors influencing the deformation capacity of beam-to-column assemblies is made based on these research results. Further, simple formulae are proposed to predict the plastic deformation capacity of the assemblies. Two types of connections, developed from a new design concept, were found possible to avoid premature occurrences of brittle fracture.
