Reliability-centred Maintenance is a process used to determine the optimum maintenance for any asset in it's operating context. This paper describes how London Underground has introduced Reliability-centred Maintenance. It concentrates on rolling stock work with some reference to signalling equipment. The paper shows that introducing Reliability-centred Maintenance has been worthwhile with opportunities being identified to improve performance and reduce costs.
