摘要：
Fire poses a significant risk to forestry, both in terms of economic loss and impact on the environment. This paper presents the rationale for and the description of a space mission devoted to the prevention, detection and monitoring of forest fires primarily in the Mediterranean basin. The mission will mainly cover support to operational fire fighting, but also briefly addresses ecological applications.
