摘要
A short review of liquid crystal compounds with a low birefringence and ordinary refractive index is presented. Special attention is given to alkylcyclohexylalkyl carbonates, which belong to a family of LCs having high clearing point temperatures, low viscosity, and n(0) as low as 1.442. Examples of multicomponent mixtures with positive and negative dielectric anisotropy are described. (c) 2005 Optical Society of America.
